AeroVironment, the leading provider of small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to the US military for mission critical surveillance and reconnaissance, priced its 6.7 million share offering at $17 a share, above its proposed $14-$16 range. The spycraft company has recently landed major contracts with the US Army's Special Operations Command division to support elevated military activity in Iraq and Afghanistan. Goldman Sachs was the lead underwriter on the deal. The stock is expected to open for trading Tuesday morning under the symbol "AVAV" on the Nasdaq.
