US IPO Weekly Recap: Lyntris and First Breach lead a defense-heavy week

August 21, 2026
Weekly Recap

The last major IPO of August priced this week, joined by a direct listing and two SPACs. One sizable issuer joined the pipeline.

Defense tech roll-up Lyntris (LNYX) priced its downsized IPO below the range to raise $298 million at a $2.0 billion market cap. Lyntris supplies connectivity solutions for military customers spanning three areas: sensor architecture, sensor hardware, and data and software platforms that combine information to support command-and-control and mission execution. Its solutions are used across maritime domain awareness, air and missile defense, and space ISR and communications missions. The company’s backlog reached $923 million as of 6/3/26, more than doubling year over year. After breaking issue on day one, Lyntris finished the down 10%.

Small ammo maker First Breach (FBDT) completed its direct listing on the Nasdaq. First Breach is a vertically integrated ammunition manufacturer serving commercial, law enforcement, and military markets. Products are distributed primarily through wholesale distributor channels, with a smaller portion sold directly to consumers and small businesses. The company is small and highly unprofitable. It finished the week down 67% from its $12 opening price.

Two SPACs also priced this week. Karman Line Acquisition (XTERU) raised $200 million to target aerospace and defense. NorthStrive Acquisition I (NSAIU) raised $100 million to target manufacturing businesses.
