Trident Resources Corp., a natural gas production company focused on exploring resources in Western Canada, withdrew its plans for an initial public offering on Wednesday. The Calgary-based company, which was founded in 2000, had previously filed for bankruptcy in late 2009, citing a sharp drop in gas prices. Deutsche Bank Securities and Jefferies & Co. were set to be the lead underwriters on the deal.
