Chimera Investment, which will invest in residential mortgage loans, residential mortgage-backed securities, real estate-related securities and various other asset classes, filed for an IPO Friday with the SEC. The company filed to be traded on the NYSE under the ticker "CIM." Merrill Lynch is the sole book runner on the deal. No terms were disclosed in the initial filing.
