Super Micro Computer, which sells modular, customizable high-performance server systems and components, priced its initial public offering of 8 million shares at $8, below its proposed $9.50 to $11.50 range, on Wednesday night. Of the shares sold in the offering, 1.6 million came from insiders. Merrill Lynch was the lead underwriter on the deal. The stock is expected to begin trading on the NASDAQ under the ticker SMCI on Thursday.
