Plains Exploration & Production, an oil and gas exploration company with core operations in California and Southern Illinois, filed with the SEC on Friday to raise up to $100 million in an IPO. The Company is being spun off from Plains Resources, an independent US oil and gas company with interests in both upstream (exploration) and midstream (pipeline) operations. Goldman Sachs has been selected as the sole underwriter for the deal. Pricing terms have yet to be announced.
