Vimicro, a designer of multimedia semiconductors for PC cameras and mobile phones, registered for an initial public offering Monday evening. The China-based company generated $67 million in revenue with a gross margin of 35.0% for the twelve-month period ended June 2005. Morgan Stanley heads the list of underwriters on the deal. Terms and timing have yet to be disclosed.
