Medical device maker Novacept files to go public

Novacept, a provider of medical devices for the treatment of excessive menstrual bleeding in pre-menopausal women, filed to go public on Monday. The Palo Alto, CA based company received FDA approval for its NovaSure System in 2001 and has generated $33 million in revenue since then. Underwriters Piper Jaffray, JP Morgan and Thomas Weisel Partners have yet to announce terms and timing for this deal.
