Korean E-commerce retailer GMarket plans to go public

GMarket Inc., a leading South Korean e-commerce marketplace that sells a wide range of consumer products, announced on Wednesday its intention to issue an IPO. The Seoul, South Korea based company draws 15.3 million unique visitors per month to its site, www.gmarket.co.kr, looking to buy anything from apparel and jewelry to computers and electronics. The company generated $90 million in sales and advertising in the last twelve months. Goldman Sachs, Cowen and Co., and Thomas Weisel are underwriting the deal. The company has yet to announce terms or timing.
