IPG Photonics, a manufacturer of fiber lasers and amplifiers used in communications, materials processing and medical applications, filed for an IPO on Friday. The company originally filed to go public in December 2000 but withdrew its S-1 registration filing in May 2001. Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers are the joint book runners on the deal. Terms and timing have yet to be announced.
