Burger King, the inventor of the the Whopper and the slogan "Have It Your Way," registered for an initial public offering Thursday evening. The Miami, FL-based company owns and franchises 11,141stores in 67 countries and U.S. territories and for the past twelve-month period ended December 2005 generated nearly $2 billion in sales with an operating margin of 9.2%. JPMorgan, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley will underwrite the deal. Terms and timing have yet to be announced.
