Aventine Renewable, a producer and marketer of ethanol in the U.S., plans to offer 7.75 million shares at a range of $37 to $41, which give the company a proposed market capitalization of $1.7 billion. Insiders plan to sell 1.4 million shares on the offering. Banc of America, Friedman Billings and Goldman Sachs are the joint book runners on the deal. Timing has yet to be announced.
