Colony American Homes files for a $100 million IPO

Colony American Homes, a leading single-family residential REIT, with 8,236 homes, filed on Thursday with the SEC to raise up to $100 million in an initial public offering. The REIT is externally managed by private equity firm Colony Capital and began operations in March 2012.

The New York, NY-based company, which booked $10 million in rental income in 2012, plans to list on the NYSE. The company filed confidentially on February 13, 2013. Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and BofA Merrill Lynch are the joint bookrunners on the deal. No pricing terms were disclosed.
