Branching out: Two regional banks file for US IPOs

Regional banks are looking to regain last year’s IPO momentum, as two US banks filed to go public in the last two weeks: Forbright and First Carolina Financial Services. The timing tees them both up for potential June listings.


The IPO window is opening to the financials sector
While the 2026 IPO market has mostly been concentrated in a few active industries (e.g. aerospace & defense, AI infrastructure, biotech, energy), last week’s successful listing of investment bank Lincoln International (LCLN; +17.5% from offer) indicates the IPO window is opening to new sectors. If Forbright and First Carolina trade well, more financial services offerings should follow.
