In an SEC filing Tuesday, Continental Airlines announced its plan to spin off its Continental Express unit, which was renamed to ExpressJet Holdings. Continental Express is the largest operator of regional jets in the world. Salomon Smith Barney, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, CS First Boston, Goldman Sachs and Raymond James will manage this deal. Terms have yet to be announced.
