Origin Investment I, a blank check company targeting middle market and emerging growth businesses in Asia, raised $60 million by offering 6 million units at $10. Each unit consists of one share of common stock and one-half of a warrant, exercisable at $11.50.
Origin Investment I is led by CEO and Director Edward Chang, who currently serves as the Portfolio Manager of Origin Equity Partners, a sub-fund of Singapore-based Carrington RHT Investments. The SPAC plans to target middle market and emerging growth companies in Asia (excl. China) with operations in financial services, technology, biotech & pharmaceutical, advanced materials, and clean energy.
Origin Investment I plans to list on the Nasdaq under the symbol ORIQU. ThinkEquity acted as sole bookrunner on the deal.
