China's leading online game company Shanda Games Limited files for an IPO

Shanda Games Limited, a Shanda Interactive subsidiary (NASDAQ: SNDA) which operates and licenses online role-playing and casual games, filed on Thursday with the SEC to raise up to $800 million in an initial public offering. The Shanghai-based company, which was founded in 2001 and booked $591 million in sales over the last 12 months, plans to list on the NASDAQ under the symbol GAME. Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C. and J.P. Morgan are the lead underwriters on the deal. No pricing terms were disclosed.
