American Tire files for a $230 million IPO

American Tire Distributors, the country's largest replacement tire distributor, filed on Friday with the SEC to raise up to $230 million in an initial public offering. The Huntersville, NC-based company, which was founded in 2005 and booked $2 billion in sales over the last 12 months, plans to list on the NYSE under the symbol ATD. BofA Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank are the lead underwriters on the deal. Pricing terms and timing were not disclosed.
